:inlove: Yay - thank you all... well, except maybe the lady who posted the pumpkin-poop photo...!!! :roflmao: I have a feeling that could stay with me for a while :notworthy: ;)

Meet you here Tuesday night.

I shall be here first thing Wednesday morning to see what you post... in the meantime, I might just have to have a practice this weekend with the other recipes and see what I can come up with... yummy!!!

Don't forget the important part- the big gob of whipped cream (or the cool whip stuff) on top! Vanilla ice cream might be overkill, but I wouldn't complain ;)

Thank you for all the suggestions - I had a bit of trouble converting "cups" to "grams" so ended up with a combination of a UK recipe for quantities but combining your spice suggestions...

I boiled my own pumpkin - boy do I wish they sold it in tins over here!!!! By the time I'd tried to strain it, it was up the walls, all over me and the dog thought all her Christmases had come at once!!!!

But - it was edible - which is amazing! It smelled delicious and Husband thought it tasted delicious :inlove:. I loved the spice combination - cinnamon, all spice and ginger - but I was a bit unsure of the texture!!! For some reason I expected it to be sticky - a bit more like a treacle tart. Not sure why, I think it's just on all the photos I've seen it's quite dark and so looks more sweet and gloopy. But all in all I'd say it was a great success!!!!!!

We also watched High Spirits on DVD - a spooky comedy from the 80s - which Husband had never seen and also loved  so all in all it was a pretty good night - thanks to you guys! x

Hi Toria,

I boiled my pumpkin for years but this year I did something different, I baked it. It is a lot easier and no straining. Just bake it at 350 F, (sorry I don't know what the conversion is) until it is tender. Just like baking squash, get rid of the stringy insides and seeds and you don't even have to peel it, just scrape the flesh part from the peel when it is done. It is a lot less messy. Just don't overcook it.
