My first time in Rome I mixed up “I’m sorry” with “It pleases me”.@Friday I got a spam call in french so decided to wing it with what I could remember (not much), it was likely so bad it actually got them to apologize and hang up.
(Mi dispiache -vs- Mi piache)
Hilarity ensued.
I also learned some of my favorite Italian swear words, from people’s reactions to my oopsie.
