[Whitneys story]

A friend and I had planned a drive to the mountains for a fun luncheon. The restaurant sits on a small river and very peaceful. Out in the country and their specialty is trout! We were to leave at noon.

At 10am I received a call that my neighbor/friend had past that I had been helping with a liver transplant. I decided it would be good to go as planned.

The waitress arrived to take our order, I ordered a Captains Plate; mix of seafood.
When she brought our plate's my face went wtf! Huge pile of mashed potatoes and gravy! I do not eat, actually am disgusted at the sight of them. I said beautiful but I should have baked potato. She and my friend said you ordered mashed loaded!

So much for stress! I said I would gladly pay to have the baked. She brought a container which I placed them in. I knew my friend would love them. It was a huge plate so I added some things to the box. My friend was delighted, said oh boy now I won't need to cook dinner!

We meandered around the gift shop. She spotted a lovely sweater but the owner did not know the price. Asked her to call and ask for his wife. She tried the sweater on and really wants it.

We got back to her home and all of a sudden she says oh I forgot the food in the car! Oh no, she forgot it at the Cafe. Must have been something in the air! It is nice to have company!

Rule number ONE here in my place is that I am not allowed to leave the kitchen when I am cooking. Chances are, I'll forget I'm cooking if I do. The ONLY exception to this is if I am cooking in the crock pot. Usually I can catch that before it gets too dryed out while on WARM. Usually....

I do good on my meds. I do good on his. I just have to remind him to take his pills. He would be lost without me.

Timing cooking and me is a hit and miss thing too! I set multiple alarms on oven and phone and ask to be reminded to ensure that it all does not end up as cinders!

I started my washer not noticing or smelling that for the 10 minutes it was running it was giving off this cloud of black smoke.

Oh and walking to the kitchen and stopping to wonder what did I walk in here for, also falling asleep in the bubble baths. :roflmao:

I was wondering where my husband was. Thinking he would be in for lunch from the garden now. Half hour before that I was suppose to drop him in to town. I completely forgot. So here I am standing in the kitchen and trying to figure it out. He had decided not to disturb me as I was so happy doing the mowing, our friend took him instead. I was doing their mowing. Lol. Totally one of those moments.

OK, I just did it again! I added Soy Sauce to my salad instead of Balsamic Vinegar! *sigh* Wish I had some crunchy noodles...

I've been an airhead all week. Either I'm putting dry goods in the fridge, or cold stuff in the cupboard. No excuses for the absent mindedness.
