New Here
Hi all!

I am 21, female, presently taking a break from University (Linguistics major, professional writing minor). In June of last year, I was coerced and raped by a long-time family friend, also 21. I have recently found out that he also raped my younger sister around Christmas 2011.

Since June I've been diagnosed with PTSD, social anxiety and transient (hopefully!) psychosis. I dissociate on a fairly regular basis, and have been admitted to the Psychiatric ER four times. The most recent time, I did not recognize my surroundings or the people with me, and as a result got violent. This lead to me being handcuffed and taken to the hospital in a police car.

I am here because I am really looking for a way of getting myself through this. I just started back at work after months of being at home, which has been difficult but is proving possible. I also hope to spread what knowledge and advice that I do have, and maybe even help someone else along the way.

Please feel free to message me; I welcome any and all messages :)

Welcome, although I'm sorry for what brings you here. It sounds like you're going through a lot.

I'm off work at the moment, and wondering how I'll cope with going back - my biggest problem with that is related to anxiety. I'm glad you're managing it, I imagine it can't be easy. Good for you.

I hope that being here will help you.

Hi and welcome to the forum. It is nice to meet you. I think you will like it here and recieve alot of healing on your journey.

Welcome here. I wish you healing peace.

Sorry that you were betrayed and hurt in this way and well done for managing to get back to work.

Hello welcome to the forum.

It's good that you've managed to go back to work. It's a very big step but it gets easier.

Welcome! I'm sorry for what happened to you and your sister.

It is awesome that you have gone back to work. The longer you wait, the harder it is. I hope you are in regular therapy. At your age, you are wasting no time getting help, and that's the most important thing.

Taking your days, and sometimes moments one day at a time is best thing to do as much as you can.

I hope you find inspiration here.
