Readers thread: what or who are you reading right now?

Needed something light and not too heavy... so started Crafty Cat Crimes - 100 Tiny Cat Tale Mysteries. A collection of short stories in the crime/mystery genre involving cats. A gift from my friend Arlene, whose mom unbeknownst to me had a penchant for these. I had no idea cat crime/mystery novels or stories were even a "thing"! Anyways... At a hefty 600 pages with really small print, I'll be chipping away at this for the first couple weeks at the new job I expect.

@Disco Dancing Queen, I have some of her books on hold at the library. I got them out of the library on kindle, but I didn't have time to listen to them all. I like the books better from the library, since our library says keep them until you are done, and there are no late fees. Now I am reading A Distant View of Everything by Alexander McCall Smith. I enjoy his No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency series, and his Isabel Dalhousie novels. They are soothing after that nightmare book, although I had calmer nightmares (if that makes sense) last night. All the dead people I know were in it except my 2 brothers.

@Bearlinda, The DBT skills workbook changed my life.

I'm now reading a mystery set in the 1800s, I forget the title and it doesn't matter because in the first chapter the characters talked about how they didn't believe in shell shock. I read the entire thing regardless, and I knew who done it right away. Good thing it was free.
