Readers thread: what or who are you reading right now?

Yes! I used to read at least a book a week and now I can't finish just one. I can't figure out why except I have a very hard time focusing and staying interested long enough to read till the end.

This is my exact experiece. Thanks for sharing

It frustrates me as I have so many good books!

I started reading an introduction to a book yesterday. I am going to try to finish the section. Maybe its a one page at a time job!

How do you approach it?

LOL I have to laugh because on the weekend a lot I go to "just look" at the bookstore. Mistake! When I moved into my new place, I had 27 boxes of books. I have 3 bookcases just in the living room and I always buy new books. I am crazy. LOL

One thing I've been doing is dedicating a small amount of time (like a chapter's worth, sometimes) to reading right before bed, at work during my lunch break, etc... And I put a different book at each location. I'm not trying to get through as many books as I can, but rather to make some progress on the books I'd start anyway. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. When it doesn't, it's because I can't even get started. If I actually get the book open, it's pretty easy to focus.

I've finished If, Then, and I liked it. I read The Wanderers, and still working on the Maise Dobbs series. I love books! My mom can't figure out why people have bookcases filled with books. The same reason people buy movies I suspect. I have several books on hold, but it is July planting season and I've been busy.

I've read a whole heap of books. I'm on a run of them. Mostly by Daniel Silva. All spy novels. Really good, am enjoying them.

I've got a book I am supposed to read for book club next week. I've waded into the first chapter and it's awful. It's a true story sort of book and I should like it but.... not so far. Too dense... I mean the book... I'll never finish it. ...sigh.... maybe the next one will be better.

One of my favorite books is The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood, and the sequel just came out. I read the sequel, and now I'm rereading The Handmaid's Tale again and will reread The Testimonies again, since I read so fast the first time, I might have missed things, lol. I don't enjoy her other books so much, but this pair is stellar IMHO.
