I am sorry that you got passed over. The right job is out there for you. I hope you rest up and recover from this. You will get a good job, I just know it. Keep on looking proffessional when you go out for a interview. It speaks volumes about your good character. Hugs.

Well, back to the drawing board

This can only mean that the job that is right for you is still out there. This was a practice interview. You can call the interview person to ask what would have made the interview more successful so that you know for the next place you interview. Pat yourself on the back for even going through it. Not an easy task to do for anyone, much less one with PTSD. For that I say congratulations!

Working gives me normality in my life which is something I can't wait to get back

I miss that feeling. I've been on disability due to my physical illness. I do not know when I will be able to work again, but I miss it greatly. Part of my identity is missing. One day, I'll get back. In the meantime I really need to learn how to configure my life without it. Starting a new therapist on Monday and I'm hoping she will be able to help me with that.

Sailorgal, Hold that confidence! The right job is on the horizon.

What I have experienced is very similar. I realized my qualifications were above the interviewers. Reach higher than what you normally give yourself credit for. The interviewers are afraid you will take over their position.

It just was not meant to be, although an excellent interview experience. Don't plan on resting to long!
Hugs, Whitney

Being passed over isn't such a bad thing. Imagine you got hired and you ended up being miserable at the job? Any job that I've gotten and loved I've felt a spark of connection between my interviewer and me - this includes jobs that I was under-qualified for.

A job has to work for the employee and the person hiring because they have in mind what type of skill set and personality they are looking for. It's nothing personal if you don't get hired somewhere, just means that it wasn't right for you :)

Last year I got a job that I thought was a dream job, and it was aside the fact that the boss was a sexist pig and wore me down so much in the short week that I was there that I didn't continue with the job. I was devastated and cried over that job for well over a month until I came to my senses and realized how miserable I would have been if I had stayed there.

Keep on trucking Sailorgal and when the time is right you will find something that works for you  . I believe in you.

Sailorgal, sorry to hear it didn't work out. Very impressed though that you went despite being afriad. Good for you! Going for an interview and getting an interview is a very important step forward.

I really gave my 150%
And you should be really proud of that. That is all we can do as job seekers.

I'm still scared!
And that is so normal after having had a break (multiple meanings ;)). And being scared and doing it anyway is the definition of bravery.

I think job finding is a bit like Russian roulette. All you can do is your part and then wait for the rest to happen or not!
