Recently Diagnosed With PTSD

Hello everyone,

I was recently diagnosed with PTSD, after a nasty skiing accident last year. My ski somehow popped off of my binding and flew up and sliced the back of my head open, also injuring my neck and my back.

I am always extremely scared that bad things are going to happen, and I've isolated myself from most people - even people I really care about. I've been on disability leave from work for 10 months now, and have been trying to 'retrain my brain' and manage my symptoms.

I cry just about every day, and I am having a hard time because I feel that no one in my life really understands what I'm going through. I am really happy that I came across the forum. I know that there are others out there that are impacted by traumatic events in their lives and it's comforting to see the support that exists here.

Thank you for listening :)

It sounds like you are suffering from depression too, which comes hand in hand with PTSD. You can try all sorts of things, exercise, herbs or medication. You have to find what suits you.

Take care, hang in there
