That is exactly what I have had to do today. Remember my own Carer Self Management is important to me and my husband.
It all came to a head this morning when I woke up with a sore throat, itchy nose and a slight head ache. I realised then I had to stop, think about everything and slow down fast.
I am supposed to be having minor surgery on Tuesday, nothing major, but general anaesthetic and keyhole surgery to remove my gall bladder. They told me on Friday at the pre opp assessment clinic that my blood pressure was slightly high, not too much to worry about, but no wonder with everything I am trying to do.
So here I am racing round like a total lunatic, trying to finish decorating my kitchen, which was started before I knew the date. cleaning the house, wrapping presents, shopping, as well as looking after my husband. Then not really noticing how all this was making me ill. And to be honest maybe adding to my husbands worries about the surgery too.
So now I have a cold which will mean no surgery on Tuesday, serves me right to be honest, as I should not have agreed to have it done before Christmas.
No decorating today, cancel opp tomorrow until after Christmas, they won't do it if I have a cold anyway. Take the super womens red knickers off, slow down and chill out.
Now feet up TV on and start again slowly tomorrow.
There is nothing that cannot wait.
