Well I am back on line . I have had another episode of exposure therapy and ended up in hospital for 3 days. Although I try not to think of being hospitalised as a weakness I have found that with the support of the staff allows me to process what the exposure therapy brings up. I was brave enough to manage 3 lots of 2 hour therapy sessions. Even my therapist was proud of me . He has asked me if he can video me duriung a session. What do you thinkn about that? He would like me to see what I am like when I dissociate. It seems very scarey . I have told him that I have been on line and joined this site which has encouraged me to continue my therapy. He was delighted that I have been able to write about mny experiences and has encouraged me to continue. Thank you to all that have sent me advice and words of encouragement. It seems that with every session of exposure therapy I have to deal with more stuff but I am sure it is a means to a end. I look forward to the day that I can sleep peacefully or have one whole day where I have no flashbacks or dissociation.

Your hope and perseverance are inspiring! May peace flood your mind and relax your body.

I am glad you chose to look at your hospitalization as a way to get help and manage the things you are dealing with. If you are not comfortable with videotaping, maybe start with recording and see how that goes. I have found the recordings to be helpful to review, especially when I dissociate and can't remember our session. It too becomes good exposure. I am not comfortable with videotaping for myself, but you may be. If you do go with either one, I recommend you view or listen to them with your therapist at the beginning. They can help to keep you grounded. :Hug_emoticon:

Thanks for the advice.gentlelady As well as my therapist showing me what happens to me through dissociation he has asked if he can use this for educational purposes for his collegues. This is what I feel unsure about. I may try the recording option first to see if I can manage this. Thanks for the advice. This forum helps me sort out my options. Good luck with your therapy you advice is gratefully accepted.
