Safe Havens

I have expanded my town to a safe haven. I started very small. my porches, mailbox... I have slowly expanded my "safe haven" to my town and to within about a 50 mile radius. It took some time, some presence of mind, and I "could" have been quite wrong, but I wasn't.

I have my own space in our house where I can put head phones on and watch a movie or play games or surf the net without interruption, when Its my chill out zone.

Hey, I found a spot today! The end of this hallway with a couple chairs, a rug, and some potted plants near some administrative offices which is deserted after hours. It is behind a set of double doors with a window at the end where you can sit. Then, hearing from you guys helped even more. So thanks everybody!

JBS, Yes I do have safe haven place to go. When everything fails, I go there.

No, it's not lost anything. In fact I feel it takes away my sadness. I feel it cleanses me.

Mostly pockets of safe places with safe people (rare), or safe places I can be alone. And some places in nature. And on occasion in my house.

@JBS : I'm glad to hear that you found a new place.

And I want to thank you for this thread. I think places like this are important for all of us in this forum and you made me realize some new stuff because I had to think about my safe places. Thank you for this. :hug:

My safe heaven is the flat of my best friend. It's always a bit messy, stuffed with just too many items but there I can lock out the world when it's hunting me. It's just 250 km away...but I've got a key.

My other safe heavens are the mountains and the ocean in general. As soon as I'm close to them I calm down. It's the best to go hiking in the mountains and be alone for hours. And even if someone goes the same road...they're always nice.

And my last heaven are the concerts of my favourite band "Saltatio Mortis". The fans are nice, the mood is great and they are the only ones who are able to make me move to the music in public. I just feel safe with their music.
