try to be a bit kinder, Math is difficult, especially algebra but hey, your there! you want to achieve something!
But...
Do you have any mental tools to help refocus?
When our brain is yelling stuff like that, your right side of the brain is in overdrive, right side is emotional, left is logical, im betting that logical would be better suited to Math. .. ☺...I'm wondering if you have the tools to get your brain to switch from right side to left side? and if so do you employ them when your going through this...
Heres just an example, that helps me, if you don't have one or haven't spoken to your therapist about it,
1 - write the alphabet down in cursive a few times, the action of thinking about the next letter and writing will activate the left side.
2- rubber band, I use rubber bands on my left wrist, this should be used in caution as I have had many bruises from flicking the band to many times, the intention is that by flicking the band at - 2 horizontal finger spaces from your wrist joint until you feel a tingle on one side of the brain then the switch has been activated
3- figure 8 , this is kind of difficult to explain but using both hands and 2 pens, trace the figure 8 in front of you the aim is to complete the rotation together using both hands but seperately making one figure 8, so one hand begins on the left the other the right and go..
like number 1 it forces the left side of the brain to activate and think, thereby reducing the activity in the right hemisphere.
I hope it helps. your a smart cookie, you can do it,
That being said, I'm good with numbers, to a degree, but I can't even fathom the type of math your required to do.. numbers and equating get jumbled in my head and it doesn't make any sense, it's like trying to read a foreign language book!
