Math is f*cking hard for me okay. Not my best subject. this is my day all day when trying to go to class. as soon as I make 1 single mistake I start internally screaming as loud as possible "what the f*ck is wrong with you? you're so dumb. you're too stupid. you stupid f*cking swine shouldn't have or do anything. you f*cking pig. you WORTHLESS COW. f*ck YOU! yeah you stupid ass c*nt you got it wrong, dumb bitch! of course you suck you stupid ass skank!!! why cant you just do better? why cant you be smarter? because you CANT youre f*cking DUMB!!!!!!"

You're not dumb, or anything else @Laycee. Some subjects are just difficult.

Start what makes sense of it. Is it just Math, or is it science classes as a whole? Is it a particular area of math? Is it a way some concepts are explained // can they be explained in some other way that you understand better?

Eventually, I'd look for all the fun uses of math; you're using counting in some sort every day, in your daily life. You use math when you go shopping. You use math in estimating distances. You use math when driving. You use math in taking medications, if you have them. You're already doing it, in your life, and not stupidly.

The funniest part is I am very advanced in science. The problem is simply this algebra that we're doing, you get these answers and I typically put them in the wrong order.... many many many times same mistake. So, I'll know what my mistake is and reorder it so I don't get it wrong,. then wait what? my order was actually right the first time? so how tf do you do this?!?!!? Its the worst thing to have everything right but not be able to see the exact step I went wrong.

Can you note it? Every of those steps, check it back from that sheet line by line?

Or note it as operations you're doing + Your thoughts to it, bubbles linking them together, different colors, things like that, that would help you find out what you were thinking and track it that way?

try to be a bit kinder, Math is difficult, especially algebra but hey, your there! you want to achieve something!
But...
Do you have any mental tools to help refocus?
When our brain is yelling stuff like that, your right side of the brain is in overdrive, right side is emotional, left is logical, im betting that logical would be better suited to Math. .. ☺...I'm wondering if you have the tools to get your brain to switch from right side to left side? and if so do you employ them when your going through this...
Heres just an example, that helps me, if you don't have one or haven't spoken to your therapist about it,

1 - write the alphabet down in cursive a few times, the action of thinking about the next letter and writing will activate the left side.
2- rubber band, I use rubber bands on my left wrist, this should be used in caution as I have had many bruises from flicking the band to many times, the intention is that by flicking the band at - 2 horizontal finger spaces from your wrist joint until you feel a tingle on one side of the brain then the switch has been activated
3- figure 8 , this is kind of difficult to explain but using both hands and 2 pens, trace the figure 8 in front of you the aim is to complete the rotation together using both hands but seperately making one figure 8, so one hand begins on the left the other the right and go..
like number 1 it forces the left side of the brain to activate and think, thereby reducing the activity in the right hemisphere.

I hope it helps. your a smart cookie, you can do it,

That being said, I'm good with numbers, to a degree, but I can't even fathom the type of math your required to do.. numbers and equating get jumbled in my head and it doesn't make any sense, it's like trying to read a foreign language book!

@Killashandra Thank you for that brain thing. I seriously should have started with little things like that and should have thought about something like that sooner considering I study the freaking brain lol. I had thought about it months ago as possibly being a thing but I pushed it to the side since I wasn't in a class at the time. Adds truth to the "only stupid question is one not asked."

I actually enjoyed Algebra way back in the day. Of course, that was a million years ago, so when I am trying to help my daughter with homework, I get stumped. I love killashandra's tips to get you going.

You can even make yourself some "guide sheets", with the notes, equations and rules that you know you are going to use most often, so when you open your notebook, they will be right there as a guide (my daughter put them in a clear report folder, so she doesn't ruin the pages by mistake).

The internet is full of some insanely helpful websites, googling "algebra help" is going to find you a ton of websites with walk-throughs, tips and tricks, you can add to your guidesheet, they even will give you walk throughs to specific equations so you can see how you are able to get to certain answers.

Try and reframe your thinking when it comes to Math, especially because you even said you are very advanced in Science. So you know you are not dumb, you've just hit a subject that is going to take a little longer to master. Good luck and take care

ADHD Trick : Can't control the first thought. CAN control the 2nd.

If swearing at yourself and calling yourself names isn't helpful to you? Each and every single time you do it, countermand it. Meaning deliberately think a 2nd thought to follow the first.

Stupid bitch! >> No. I'm not.
You got it wrong >> So I'll fix it.
Et cetera.

So go smaller? Insert more pauses between studying?

No wonder you're exhausted after /six hours/ of mental work.

Man this math is.. idk how to explain other than hit and miss with materials? So:
I can read the book and do its examples and take its formulas then try and apply them in our classwork. Well everything I've done this the book has not helped me by either not having all formulas being used this week or by having as basic as possible examples that don't use negatives ever... some problems will need to be switched around 3 times due to negative signs!!!!
Honestly am learning new concepts and formulas one question to the next, for each classwork section. Last 2 weeks had 13 sections, 7-25 questions each, each section has a quiz, need 8 completed just weekly test. Omg..

Can you sort this by what/when/how's?

Figure what you have.
Figure what you need, and when do you need it to solve the problem / at which stage.
Then go over where you get what you need, &
How do you join what you have with what you need.

Has crossing out the double negatives and marking the brackets // order of ops veery visibly helped you any?

Also, can you substitute with something real life? (I'm totally better thinking of numbers if I switch them for letters & if the concept doesn't make sense, if it changes into 'How fast does this f*ck someone up and in what ways it f*cks them up'. I can think of damage & prevention. Cough.)
