New Here
Former Marine combat engineer 2000-2006 and then reserves 2010-2012. 2 tours Afghanistan, 05-06 3rd Batalion 3rd Marines. Mostly running presence patrols.
11-12 4th USMCR Vic commander for security convoys.
Been out for four years and anxiety hasn't gotten any better.
Talked to a few VA connected consolers that just made it worse so stopped about a year ago. Shit just keeps going down hill so found this site and wanted to check it out.
Thanks

Welcome 1371....You have found the best place to learn and share about what we call the BEAST. I am one of the old Nam guys here on the site......We will do our best to help you learn about it and how you can get to a place where you can live with it.....It will not at first be a walk in the park, it will take you some time...Just about all you will find here has be written by us (The guys and gals that have the Beast) and how we have learned (or are still learning) to deal with it. Take your time and start reading....We also have some good video's to watch.......Have any questions, please ask....Oh, one other thing, the Coffee :coffee: here is for shit....:whistle::whistle:

Welcome 1371.
Found the right place. As ODG said years of good info and advice from those with the Beast.
The magnifying glass on the top right corner of the screen is the search function, and you can
type certain keywords like Anxiety etc and look through the archives. And if nothing shows pertaining
to your search feel free to start a thread on the subject.

CGF and myself are some fellow Combat Engineers from zeh Army.
Good to have you here.

Thanks guys,
Started to read some posts and looking at the info here.
Out for 4 years but still feel like I'm in Afghanistan to some degree, but without my platoon. Trust issues, anxiety. Before I had trusted Marnies to watch my back and I watched theres. Now not so much, sure I'm not alone in that.

Good morning 1371, served along 10th mountain in 2006... same timeframe as you it seem... I'm new too so I guess I should say Hi instead lol

And the coffee isn't that bad. At least you can float a ball bearing on it.

Welcome. Drop the ruck. And that means more than what it sounds....

Thanks guys,

Just so you know, I left the Nam in Oct. 70......Not a day has go by that I have not been back there....That's coming up on 46 years this Oct......It's just part of the beast, it does in fact get to be a lot easier to deal with, but will take some time on your part.......For the last 5 years, sometimes when I go back it makes laugh.:ROFLMAO:....I am now remembering some of the good times, and that is a good thing for me anyway.....(y)
