Seeking Combat Vets Narrative Story For Reseaching A Solution To Treating Ptsd!

@ Anthony, Curious the Department of Veterans Affairs 2006 suggested that 3.4 million vets were diagnosed with PTSD, of those several million are still hesitant to work with the DOD and or DOVA to receive treatment. My goal is simple or as you say to "lay it on the table" is to give a voice to the silent minority that exist today. It is very interesting to see so many of my comrades/fellow Vets' hesitant to give our condition a global voice. I too was hesitant until I said enough of this bullshit Pain! Enough of the hyper vigilance which i still have, enough of the freaking migraines which I still get (by the way)! At no point have I been cryptic, I want to help and give back; nothing more nothing less. Anthony by interpreting the story there are algorithms that can help me determine how to test my hypothesis. Further, my method is effective, but it takes continued research, so yes if I seem protective about disclosing my methodology, I will own it. But it is not my intent to be cryptic nor to use anyone here as a lab rat (God I hate that term), that would be unethical and would have no honor here!

Respectfully, Anthony, my hypothesis removes the suppression aspect of CBT and addresses the root cause of PTSD. Imagine if you will a weed (the psychological pathogen) if you remove the ugly flower weed and leave the root (suppression); guess what? The weed returns! CBT does nothing about treating the unconscious aspect of psychological trauma. Sure CBT is effective for treating early onset (of) psychological trauma, but respectfully PTSD requires a treatment modality that removes the root or the underlying issue of PTSD. But like I said I truly get it...

But understand this Viktor Frankl (world renowned Austrian neurologist and psychiatrist) who also over came PTSD as a Holocaust survivor said this "Everyone has his own specific vocation or mission in life; everyone must carry out a concrete assignment that demands fulfillment. Therein he cannot be replaced, nor can his life be repeated, thus, everyone's task is unique as his specific opportunity to implement it..." Anthony this is my mission...a real solution to treating PTSD! A real solution!

There I have laid it out for you for you, I have tried to not use clinical words that would be a cause concerns for others in this forum. I have communicated to everyone my goals without sounding like a doctor or a researcher. Yet I see that I have to express myself in a way that chews at the meat of things... Therefore, here I am as transparent as I can be without being unethical to everyone here as well as my pursuit to finding and achieving a real solution to treating PTSD. So there you have it!

I believe there is a method to treating PTSD without having individuals suppress their emotions, thoughts, ideas, or feelings and it is through a more comprehensive process... Finally, and again respectfully, I am not suggesting a "Mind Body type approach or even Mental Imagery" modality sorry not even close sure there are aspects there but not the approach to my treatment hypothesis. The answer is far deeper than a Mind Body type approach...far, far, deeper!

Thanks mate for the opportunity to share my passion with everyone! And in case anyone is interested my Combat PTSD is due to survivor's guilt... Also my reason for giving back is for those that did not come back!

ughh, survivors guilt....PTSD sucks with the continual and additional stage of survivors guilt...enough said...

I have been suffering even worse migraines since I arrived home from my deployment. Over the past year they have been daily episodes that have resulted in several hospital stays, and no one has been able to stop them!!!! I am hoping I can get the VA to cover them along with my PTSD. I was off work from Sep 2010 - Jan 2011 and now again Jun 2011 - Sep 2011, at least. It's been bad, and I'm not sure how I can go back to work with this. I struggle with these so bad now, that some days I can't get out of bed. I have medical bills that have piled up!!! It's such a mess!!!
