News September 11th - Expressing Gratitude

I've seen a few posts about 9/11 out here, but not one that expresses gratitude toward the heroes who stepped up that day. I know that we, as a country and the world, lost a great deal that day; however, I feel that we need to counter the hatred acted out on that day with gratitude while we grieve. Please respect that this is a post about gratitude and not up for or about debate. It is about honor, love and appreciation.

I want to express my gratitude to all of the men and women who served as police, firefighters, EMTs, military, and individual citizens who ran toward the nightmares in Manhattan, at the Pentagon, and on the plane that ended its journey in PA for their selfless bravery, courage, dedication, love, and compassion on 9/11.

I also want to express my gratitude to the officials, medical and mental health professionals, clergy, and many agencies who helped those who suffered as a result of these atrocities. Even the search dogs - God bless our 4-legged friends who searched through the rubble along side of their human compatriots to try and find those who were still alive or to find remains to provide closure for their families.

I especially want to express gratitude to all of those who lost their lives in their endeavors to help those in harm's way, I give you my thanks, appreciation and prayers.

Also thanks for those like the people of Newfoundland, who stepped up to help the "plane people", who were stranded there when US air space was closed.

Wow, love this thread! I feel graditute in of itself isnt said enough or felt enough. It feels like a greedy country most days and so to be grateful is an important thing!

I feel very grateful of people (and country) that lent a hand that day to help those directly impacted!
