Server Upgrades

I've just been doing upgrades at the server, and they are significant from a software view. If you notice any issues, please report them here with as much detail as possible.

The purpose of the upgrades at the server are to make the site run much faster for users.

I have to hit refresh allot on this site. I do not have to on the myptsd page. seems if not load quick it drops task efforts.

As of today the page loads faster and loads the whole page. Before I had to hit reload most of the time. Not sure about fly overs, whats working or not working.....I am using Firefox 48 and Win 10.

Our server upgrades may have affected some performance degradation during the process... yet like @OldDoorGunner outlined now, it should be smoother and faster overall.

Our server is located on the East coast of the USA, so the closer you are to the server, the faster the page load. Saying that, we have increased our in and out connection speeds, substantially, we now have a 50Gbps in and 1Gbps out connection to our server. That is really for this site, but MyPTSD... but everyone benefits from it.

We're now running php7, which provides close to a 2x processing improvement for php page rendering. The server obviously also has opcache running to help it along.

This theme was also updated to the latest, reducing js file size and other performance improvements and bugs on latest mobiles.

We've also rolled out a whole bunch of DNS improvements and security, for connection performance across ipv4 and ipv6.

When in doubt, drop caches and load a whole new instance onto your local device.

There is a 12 / 24hr monitoring I'm now performing to ascertain whether one more change is needed due to load balancing and such. If needed, the site will disappear for half an hour while changes are made, then all will be sweet then forward.

Due to recent security upgrades made at the server, I have had to remove YouTube video from embedding, as YouTube use a Google address to load media, which causes a security conflict and fails to load the content as two URL's are involved, where the strict security measures in place ensure all SSL is returned by the primary URL being used.

It doesn't stop you posting YouTube links into the forum, it just stops YouTube embedding from happening here.
