Shame dreams

I have quite a lot of these, anyone else have dreams in which the main thing is shame? Humiliation too.

I don't even want to say what the dreams are about. Just thinking of saying what happens in them feels too shameful.

Is this my brain trying to process shame?

Oh man, all the time.
My dreams will be going well, and then I start to get the shame and my insecurities take over the whole dang dream. I know at least for me it is almost definitely my brain trying to process shame. A lot of very familiar situations from my past in the dream world stir up these feelings for me.

I've been having quite a lot of these in the past couple years - used to be i had frightening nightmares, more recently shame seems to be the main theme.

There's a real hangover effect to them too - I'll feel I'm worse than nothing for a good few days after.

ugh. Just want to shake it off.

I guess it would be good to start developing a way to respond to myself when this happens - something soothing maybe.
