We have had so many shooting where I live that our local hospital just announced today that they are willing to donate 1/2 of the $600,000 needed to install what is called a shot spotter in and around the main part of our small city. Apparently, they install sound specific microphones around, and when a shot is fired, it automatically sends an alert to the police via cell phones, and browser alert within seconds of the shots being fired. It locates the exact spot the shots were fired, and what type of gun was used.
I'm thinking that the gangs will just move to another part of the city, so instead of being an the north end where they are now, they will move to the south end.
