Short Term Memory Issues

Talk about short term, I went to take a shower and put my glasses on my dresser first. Got sidetracked after flushing toilet by noise outside. Went to grab my glasses from the shelf over the toilet where I convinced myself I left them. Freaked out because I thought I flushed them accidentally down the toilet. After a few minutes of searching frantically, nearly blind keep in mind, I went into my bedroom and found them on my dresser. I nearly cried in relief.:oops: Finally took shower.

Sorry, thats hilarious. Can't count how many times I have dug through the garbage. Convinced I had thrown something away when I hadn't.

I used to have an amazing memory and then during the emotional abuse/ stress at it's peak I lost my short term memory. It sucked so bad! I used to be able to remember long conversations and practically the entire day and I would not even be able to remember 1 to 5 minutes of things that literally just happened. If someone said something, or read something (I can't remember those at all for the most part or I have to concentrate like none other), I would forget it instantly, it was very frustrating and I felt stupid and was treated as stupid, which I know I'm not. I decided to reverse it and have been working on it till I basically get it back. There has been significant progress. It feels like my head is clearing slowly but surely. I find writing things down or actively trying to remember what you just did, what you just read and it will get better. A break through happened for me when I was using flashcards for school, it might be be the trick to bringing your memory back quicker.
