Two songs come to mind when I think of a song to help lift me out of the doldrums. One is the song "Don't worry, be happy" and one by Willy Nelson, can't remember the title. Lyrics have a line - "You've got to acc'centuate the positive and elim'inate the negative." I wish I could remember more of the lyrics. I'd post a youtube link but I don't think I have that priviledge yet. They really do help sometimes... Unless it's like the third day I've had it stuck in my head. lol. :whistling:
One phrase I use often, but not often enough, is "You are responsible for your own happines" (speaking to self) or "I am responsible for my own happines". Expecting life to just be a bowl of cherries is a bit unrealistic, You've got to go out and pick the cherries, clean 'em up and put em in a bowl for your own enjoyment. This is all metaphoricly speaking.
In my lifes experiences, I've seen that I have to take care of myself first before I can effectively take care of anyone else. Kinda like trying to take the splinter out of someone elses eye, but yet I have a beam in my eye.
Please forgive me for my spelling tonight. Lots of pain meds make concentration difficult.
