Strangely I was never allowed to have a BB gun as a kid, but it was no big deal to have a .22, a 20 gauge, and my trusty .35 Marlin in my closet. In later years, I managed to find a two digit serial number Sportsman 76 chambered for .30-06 Springfield. Oddly, all this got me in trouble on active duty as I didn't know how to use anything but iron sights. Well, that and the attitude of " The first round is in the small black circle, why the hell would I waste another one on the same target?";)Me too....22cal every kid I knew had one where I grew up in Texas. 308 was more in use around our place...a good brush gun.
