Something Weird Happened, Is It Anxiety Related?

For the 2nd time, while I was shopping, I felt a wave of dizziness followed immediately by full blown double vision, the inability to focus my eyes and or walk. I had to hang onto the grocery cart to keep from falling over. Closing my eyes only made me more dizzy and less stable on my feet. The only way I was able to move was by closing 1 eye. I waited until I was more stable on my feet, able to focus my vision and able to walk (still with double vision) before I attempted to leave the store.

Is this anything anyone has ever experienced with their panic/anxiety attacks. I still have the dull headache I got after this incident and all this happened yesterday afternoon. I feel weird and a little dizzy and my eyes feel like I've been crying for days.

This happened on Thurdays afternoon. Wednesday afternoon I finally had my crying-screaming breakdown from nerves and lost it. Been a long time since I cried that hard and when I was done I had the most painful headache I've ever had. It was a serious 10 on the scale---that scared me too!

Input anyone-----and don't tell me to go see the doctor, I know that. I'm just looking for anyone else who has been through this!

Go see the doctor (only kidding, lol --- but go anyway!)

I have serious dizziness, and double vision when I have a panic attack, followed by headaches of varying degrees. I thought this was 'normal' for a panic attack? Now I'm worried, I too would like your thoughts please (and don't say 'go see a doctor', we've done that joke already!)

You will never know how glad I was to read your post. While I'm sure I need to see "that person"-- lol--just knowing someone else has had this experienced. I was not even aware I was having an anxiety/panic attack as I am usually affected in a much different way.

I hope others will respond to this thread to validate our feelings. Thanx Kiddo

Hello -

Thank you for posting because recently I have been experiencing this also and it is a new symptom for me. (I am not on any medication right now. Still have to save up the money for a doctor and meds.)

Today, while I was working, I had to walk the facility with my boss and suddenly I saw gray spots in front of everything, and then it went into double vision. I felt really dizzy and it took all of my acting skills to cover it up until my boss left.

All morning I had been feeling anxious and like I needed to jump out of my skin. Then this happened. After I went back to my office, I sat there for an hour just trying to breathe and that helped.

So yes, I can relate to your experience. This is a new symptom for me and definitely a wake up call that I need to see a doctor very soon.

Best wishes,
Suzanne

Are you on any medication? Dizziness and double vision can be a side effect of most psychotropic medications.

Also would you have been hungry which could cause low blood sugar or overly tired at the time?

Had you been standing for prolonged periods that would have caused your blood pressure to drop?

They would be some common things that could cause your symptoms but as cherryblossom says....take it to the doctor!

Hopefully it was just a once off though.

Been giving that blood pressure thing some thought myself. I had not eaten and had been out shopping for about 2 hours just walking around. Plus I am normally a low bp person anyway. Good thinking Thanx

I've had that quite badly lately. I've always thought it was Vertigo, as I do suffer with it, but it also happens when I'm stressed and/or very, very tired. It was also a bad side effect of when I stopped my meds abruptly a few years back (stupid, I know). Anyway, no, you aren't alone. I get this too.
