Stood Up For Myself To My Boss

It won't sound like a big accomplishment but it was for me. My boss called my coworker and myself to her desk to point out a mistake one of us had made (my coworker, just sayin'). We had had that same conversation on Thursday but my coworker was on holidays so she repeated it. And she often does this thing where it seems that she wants us to explain ourselves and our ineptitude but really she just wants to say things like "this is all cause you never pay attention and you're careless" so I started the explanation (for the second time) and she said "stop giving excuses" and I heard myself tell her "We've already had this conversation. I've already explained the error and we already know how to fix it so, what else do you want"?
I didn't shake. Didn't choke. It felt amazing. Of course she was offended and said "this is not a good day for me to be having this conversation" and told us to go back to our desks.
A month ago I would have lowered my head, apologize ten times and then spend the day hating myself for not pointing out it wasn't my mistake, feeling stupid cause I let that mistake happen and feeling like sh*t for days for actually getting scolded twice.
So yeah. I feel so good about myself.
It's the small things, right?
