Like I said, my personal opinion is that he was at fault, being the adult who knew better. But at the same time, she wasn't blameless in it either.

I'm not looking to win an argument, I was merely pro offering my honest opinion.

Its easy to view things from a victim's perspective, but it's not always the same case everywhere, and some people do not need to be taught, they mature early and go out looking for it.

No, it's not all the victim's fault, but sometimes they do contribute to a scenario.

Like I said, its highly subjective.

I feel so strongly on this subject.

I recall 'flirting' with male teachers. That is how I was taught to communicate with adults of the opposite sex. I now see how this could have gone. I am 'lucky' to be the victim of only one paedophile.

Whereas I slept with a lot of men in their 20's, 30's, and 40's before I was 15. I'm sure it was all my fault for being so "advanced".

It was not your fault. It is illegal for anyone of those ages to sleep with a 15 year old and for good reason. Yes you had to learn different ways of relating to men but that doesn't excuse their behaviour and there was good reason for your. Children learn how the world works from those in authority and it usually takes therapy to unlearn the harmful things taught.

In Australia we have had judges say similar things about a 6 year old. It is a real worry that the judges are not better educated.

There is also the issues of the power difference between a 13 year old and a 41 year old.

I can actually believe that the 'victim' was not innocent in this by any stretch of the imagination.

I don't believe a thirteen year old has the ability to comprehend the long term ramifications of a sexual relationship. A thirteen year old is search of a sexual relationship is more likely subconsciously seeking a parental relationship. But for a child of thirteen, love is a very confusing thing.
