We are not in the same location, but my T suggested I go to a group which was focused on complex trauma. I think it is difficult for them to create a PTSD support group in our country due to a lack of funding. I don't think it is to do with the number of people with PTSD, as you have said. Our capital city has a big centre/hospital which helps people with PTSD, but gaining access to it is difficult because of long waiting lists for mental health support.maybe they don't want to hold group therapies
^ I do not mean to take the thread off topic. I think your idea is admirable @Thematrix , there would just be a lot of factors you wouldn't be able to control. I agree with Anonymous, my number one concern would be confidentiality. I already think my privacy was broken by someone in the group therapy that I completed, and that is a very difficult/painful lesson to learn. Not everyone will take the rules of a support group seriously, whether it is led by a "professional" or led by a peer.
