@scout86 You are right he won't be more responsible in 6 weeks and he is incredibly responsible now doing high school, college, multiple activities all at once while being in the top 5% of his class of 300. He is the only kid at home I have a daughter in her senior year of college so obviously quite capable of taking care of herself.

@Freida He is very good at taking care of himself but he has procrastinated about getting his license so at this point he can't drive. I guess I am thinking if I delay this even a few weeks we can finish his licensing process and then he if fully self-sufficient.

$5 says then you'll want to wait a few weeks/months so that you're comfortable with him driving himself alone and aren't spending 90% of your energy worrying about him on the road, or driving to pick up friends who can't drive, or, or, or.

There are a 1,000 reasons to put this off. They're all good reasons. They will always BE good reasons. No argument from me at all on this. When you're juggling work and family, none of those reasons are -or will ever be- bullshit.

So if there are always good reasons to postpone, what are the reasons to go now?

@Friday You are right there will always be good reasons to postpone so the reasons to go now include: stabilizing before the holidays as I have attempted suicide on NYE (an anniversary of multiple traumas in a single night), to deal with things once and for all rather than continuing to put it off, if I go now there should not be any issue with being home for the major events in my son's senior year next semester and my daughter's college graduation.and lastly because I may never get this chance again. If I put it off they may decide I am not as in need of the program as others and they with draw to offer.
