Supporters & sufferers - telling your spouse about ptsd

@somerandomguy I think I would need to talk about that with therapist first because I'm not really sure how I would want to be supported. I mean I've never had anyone be supportive in my life, I'm not sure what that even looks like. I feel a little bit like it's the blind leading the blind in this case.
 
OK, just throwing out ideas, and I apologize if this stuff isn't helpful.

What if ... he went with you once to a therapy appointment? I know that when I've had really, really hard stuff to tell my wife, I have done much better in front of a therapist or marriage counselor. And another, more impartial person joining the discussion has been very helpful as well.
 
I've actually had the same thought and might consider it again once I get the therapist situation figured out. The thought of bringing him there makes me incredibly nervous, but at least I would be working with a safety net, so to speak, with the therapist present.
