@laura2
As you can tell by my handle, I am interested in Buddhism. I am comforted by much of what I learn and practice. I am especially attracted to Kwan Yin who, instead of accepting full Nirvana, chose instead to stay on Earth to help the suffering.

Just saying that it attracts me and though there is no temple anywhere near me, I can read about it and discuss it with my Reiki master and yoga teacher. I have two of the eight auspicious symbols tattooed on me. The golden fish that swim without fear in murky waters and a lotus that begins it's life in the muck and mire, reaching through clouded water and blooms into beauty as it reaches for the sun. I like those analogies.

It's like a saudade for yourself...
I had to look that up. What an exquisite description.
Though most of the time I just feel like a common or garden pinada that keeps getting hung back up there no matter how many times they keep knocking the stuffing out of it...:tdown:

@KwanYingirl Thanks for the info about Kwan Yin. I went and read some more about her - e.g.
Kuan Yin (also spelled Guan Yin, Kwan Yin) is the bodhisattva of compassion venerated by East Asian Buddhists. Commonly known as the Goddess of Mercy, Kuan Yin is also revered by Chinese Taoists as an Immortal. The name Kuan Yin is short for Kuan Shih Yin (Guan Shi Yin) which means "Observing the Sounds of the World".

We all need more Kwan Yin in our lives :hug:
