Undiagnosed Suspected Ptsd From Bullying

Hi, I'm new. I was bullied for several years and I have PTSD symptoms as a result. I have been to the doctors about it and I have an appointment next week and I'm going to discuss it then.

Welcome! I'm glad you're seeking professional help to deal with your symptoms. Even if you don't have the full blown disorder, you can still learn a lot about symptom management here on the site. I hope your appointment goes well!

Welcome to the forum. I, too, was severely bullied throughout school. It's very possible for bullying to result in PTSD. I'm glad you've scheduled an appointment with a professional who can evaluate your history and symptoms and provide a diagnosis. All the better to confirm your need for treatment, as early as possible. But as Solara mentioned, even if you're not diagnosed with PTSD, that doesn't mean that you can't pursue treatment for your symptoms-as Adjustment Disorder, Major Depression, etc.

Also, it's never a bad idea to get a second opinion, if you "feel in your gut" that it doesn't fit.

In other words, don't give up, one way or the other. You deserve relief, and I'm glad you're pursuing it, both here and through a clinician.

Hello, welcome, and Congratulations! Recognizing you have an issue is always the first step to working on solving or coping with it. It's brave of you to even make this step.

Welcome to MyPTSD forum! :)

Making an appointment to start treatment, and joining a support site, are great steps in taking control of your treatment. I hope you find both beneficial.

Wishing you the best.

Debbie
