General The Guilt Of Having A Bad Day

I feel like the "odd man out" here being a man. I know with my live-in girlfriend, it was always the understanding that that is the day I get out of the house, rake leaves, go to a friend's place for a beer, go for a drive in the country, whatever. Maybe Anthony should shingle the roof that day, or work in the garage.

Guilt might be your automatic reaction, but the truth is, your man loves you anyway, it's the same for everyone, and it's temporarily not really completely in your control being hormonal in cause. Maybe you need to have a good laugh about it to lighten it up, and lighten up on yourself a little too. You're a sweetheart just the way you are.

You know, sometimes a bad day is just such a bad day and we can't avoid it no matter what we do.

We have to try let go to that whether we have pTSD or whether we care for someone with it, and it is so good to know that someone cares.

To all carers a Thankyou, for all the bad days and the good days that you share and help us all get through, because it CAN be such a crapshoot sometimes!!!

Nicolette,

This past Sunday evening, I was the one in a bad place. My sufferer and I had plans to get together but I called him on the phone in advance and told him where I was. I was easily agitated and I recall having to communicate this to him several times before he got it. He decided to come over anyway and I commuicated that it wasn't his bad day that was the problem with me, it was my bad day that was the problem.

In the end, I noticed that I felt a little better. I have had bad days where I've had to minimize the time I spend with him because when he and I are in a bad place at the same time, it can be like a "perfect storm". Not much fun.

Everyone in the world has bad days, why should we "carers" be any different?
Perfectionism isn't healthy. You have so much to offer this forum with your wisdom and experience, surely you deserve a bad day here and there.
