Soooooooo, there's not enough money to properly fund and staff V.A.facilities. Thousands are waiting as long as two years to see a doctor, but we have 25 million to give to the University of California to develop a brain chip???????????

Considering the thousands suffering now, where will they find enough brain surgeons to install the electronic gismos? Or, will you just have your local electrical contractor take care of that???????????

As a former maintanance supervisor in an industrial plant I can tell you that if it's mechanical or electrical, eventually it will fail. It's simply a mater of time. How long do you suppose the line will be when your old chip is recalled or quits working????????

I think eventually, perhaps in the near future, people will literally be 'jacking' into their brains to connect with pc and internet or whatever they will be then. By then a physical connection may not even be necessary, just something placed say behind your ear in your glasses will send a wifi signal to areas of the brain. We'll 'see' the sites in our mind but will visualize them in front of us. Not so sifi as it might seem.

So if you find it annoying with people on their phone or device talking loud everywhere, WOW! will you be annoyed. I'm annoyed just thinking about it.

I'm starting to loose count of the number of totally idiotic ideas that people are coming up with to, I don't know, 'cure'? PTSD. We already have a good number of treatments that help. For me it's find something that works than work the plan. If that doesn't do it find something else till it does.

Jar, you know as well as I and the other Nam Vets here that every year, the VA comes out with a new "cure". If I had kept track of all the "cures" they came out with, it would make an interesting book. The VA would do anything to get rid of the PTSD diagnosis, anything. They've been struggling to change mine, or claim I'm better or whatever to reduce me for decades. Just like they have for so many others.

But with me seeing a private shrink and therapist, and them not having access to my records, they're reluctant to do anything that might be proved wrong, especially now that the news channels are spewing out how corrupt and ineffective they are. But I'm sure they will eventually.

Anyway, nice dog and pony story.

The chip will be running on a MS Windows platform probably. The antivirus software will take up more GB's of room that the bloated Windows program. They won't get around to fixing and patching the program in a timely manner because that would take money... and the VA would be responsible for the whole program.

VA: Yes we are aware that all the chips have been hacked and the vets are basically zombies.
Reporter: Well, what are you doing about it?
VA: We have our best team on it...
Reporter: Ya... but what are you DOING about it?
VA: I'm not really sure... Oh wait! That's classified... We will have to get back to you on that...
