The Royal Wedding Is Almost Here

I won't tell anyone who is sitting beside me watching the televised Royal Wedding (shhhhhh!) lol!!

To me marks a sad day... I am curious .. How many young men/woman of the UK have been killed in the wars over the last 20 years? How many persons are hungry and homeless in the UK? How many lack true health care (For mental and physical trauma)? OK and this is costing the taxpayers in security costs etc how much? Sorry I will not watch any of it... Nope not even a peek... I do wish them well I guess as I really do not know them and I do hope they have a healthy marriage together just as I would to any young couple anywhere. But I hope they do not spread false rhetoric of hope to those in need as that often the privileged do to maintain there elitist status at the true costs of others less fortunate... Sorry the marketing geniuses aren't getting a dime from me today.... In fact I am going to try to perform an extra act of kindness for someone in need instead of sitting in front of a boob tube excepting status quo as being good for true world peace and equality for all

I don't really see what a royal wedding has to do with war and homeless. Royal weddings are a long standing British tradition, and it clearly gives joy to many. The majority of costs have been paid for by the royal Family, but agree that the security costs are covered by our taxes. How many millions of tax payers money are spent on security at football matches every year? While the very wealthy clubs cover none of the costs.

I think it's lovely to watch such a happy occasion. It makes a very pleasant change from all the doom and gloom in the world.

I agree nut.. If u read the trauma stories here and see in keyboarded words what trauma has been bestowed upon spouses just because they are spouses IKES. I have to wonder who really benefits in the US because of marriage..After all better than 50% of them end in divorce and we are a society that really focuses on wealth. Let me see, the churches charge how much to get married in a church today and how much to get a marriage annulled? ........... Interesting.... And the lawyers make how much creating pre-nuptial agreements and divorce decrees... Interesting...The truth hurts

I didnt really care about this wedding, but my daughter woke me up this morning asking me to watch it with her. It was actually very nice to see how much William and Catherine smiled at eachother. The traditional/Historical elements in the wedding and procession were neat.
I think a joyous event, like this wedding, that can bring a nation of people together is wonderful. Really love the more simple, modest look Catherine choose for her wedding dress. Lovely.

Blossom I agree... I ask the same questions.... Funny here in the US a lot of major sports teams are going broke....Why? because they cannot cover the costs of the wealthy that use them as marketing ploys because the poor middle class can no longer afford to go to the games and the kids of america do not look at sports as fun any more it is all about money and wealth and violence...

U should see the elaborate and over the top arenas taxpayers have foot the bill for in the USA... to supposedly watch a sporting event with friends? Please!!!!!!!! It is all in the name of corporate marketing greed...U should see all the security at these events...We do not have enough cops in the streets of towns where gun and drug violence is rampet? Why are they protecting the rich..If we can afford tax dollars on the riches protection during a baseball game we surely can feed the hungry and shelter the sick and ill. We have many elaborate traditions in the US that does not make them right...
