These are our "chickens" as my husband calls them. HA! They are Sand Hill Cranes. They have come since I moved here. I was late this morning and he was letting me know LOL.
I have had various ones over the years..I had one that use to walk back and forth by my living room window in the morning where I'm on my computer, maybe 5 feet away, trying to catch my eye. And if that doesn't work they can make some seriously loud complaints!!! I can't even talk on the phone when they start, it just echos :laugh:.
I think it's so funny when they come running over the hill when they see me out there, they look like their wings are tied back and they kind of waddle really fast. They are not afraid of my "Girls" either., who have long ago been taught to leave them be.
