The Small Things In Life. What Makes You Happy?

It is so easy to become focused on the negative that we lose sight of the good. I started keeping a log about two months ago, simple one word bullets of something, anything that made me happy each day. From a night without nightmares to Wal-Mart having the cheese bread I like to toast with my cereal, it is so uplifting to look back over when I feel down. Life really is wonderful when we take the time to notice.

Wouldn't it be nice to share our happiness with others, without feeling guilty about it? Even if it's fleeting moments, which can help us more forward towards healing. We all know that PTSD in a roller coaster ride of highs and lows. When we reach the stage of being on a high, we sometimes tend to leave the forum. I know I did as I felt I could no longer contribute or deal with negativity. This is not the case.

What do others think about this?

Yea, I support this. I don't feel guilty about sharing my happiness, (although I can understand why others would) I think with most 'normal' people sharing happiness is infectious and makes them want to be around you. My problem is I just don't have that many moments of happiness.

I also forget about them too quickly and dwell on my problems instead of enjoying the happy moments for what they are sometimes.

I'll be back when I have some joy to share.

I tend to leave the forum when I am struggling. I do know now to put my misery into words and I do not want to bring anyone down. I admire the people who can post when they are feeling down.

But to share happiiness is a great idea. I will be back when I can share my happiness. Thank you, great thread.

I am the opposite, where posting is easy when I'm down and hard when I'm happy. Probably comes from the fact that when I was a child and smiled, my mother would ask why I was smiling and know the smile off my face.

Smiling comes naturally now and it's contagious. People nearly always smile back, and it makes you feel better!
