opps, did we say we cured PTSD we meant...... nothing, but it was fun trying.

The Army has a mission to do, and like it or not, right or wrong we are just like other types of equipment they own. Use it up and dump it when done. Whats more important, the mission or the man?? The mission will win out every time. It is one of the cost of war.

I got no issue with this, just don't tell me you are gona take care of me and then not do it. If you want to use me up and dump me when your done, fair enough, I can deal with that. Just don't lie to me, you are subject to a higher standard than that. The government should hold them self to the same standard they hold us to.

Agreed! There has never been a military at any time, at any place, where the soldier was more important than the mission. I not only accept it, I embrace it. BUT, doesn't the nation that has benefited by our sacrifice, in whose cause we have killed, have bled, have been horribly maimed - doesn't this nation have a moral responsiblity to bind our wounds - to show some compassion? The children of those who were unwilling to serve slept safely in their beds at night because we were willing to face the brutal reality, to do what was necessary. Your thoughts please.

My thought is that every politician should be made to read, understand, and explain the following words
of George Orwell (he got it):

"We sleep safely in our beds because rough men stand ready in the night to visit violence upon those who would do us harm".

Absolutely right, Pleiku, we faced the brutal reality. And those that demand it should comprehend that and offer what their conscience urges.

Agreed, Pleiku, but it has been brought home, on more than one occasion, that we Americans are most fortunate to get what we do from our nation. Don't get me in the least as being a huge fan of the VA but there are members on this very board that get zip, zero, zilch when they come home screwed up.

I was of the belief that all warriors of the free world were taken care of upon their return from the war but it just isn't that way. I find it very, very sad that this is true. We Nam Vets are said to have blazed the way with PTSD advancements but at a steep cost. Many of us committed suicide, many more are still in prison.

I'm beginning to count my blessings and I owe a lot of it to this board. May it live forever.
