The Army has a mission to do, and like it or not, right or wrong we are just like other types of equipment they own. Use it up and dump it when done. Whats more important, the mission or the man?? The mission will win out every time. It is one of the cost of war.

I got no issue with this, just don't tell me you are gona take care of me and then not do it. If you want to use me up and dump me when your done, fair enough, I can deal with that. Just don't lie to me, you are subject to a higher standard than that. The government should hold them self to the same standard they hold us to.

You are right Mission comes first! I think most of us understand that, I never herd of PTSD until I was stationed at Ft Polk LA. I went on normal sick call and was diagnosed with PTSD, You would think being on active duty the Army would be there for me! Hell I did my best for the Army. I was a SSG in Vietnam. Nope they ruined me!

The sad part of it all is that there is still a terrible stigma concerning any 'mental illness' or how ever you'd like to classify PTSD. I'd say that we all feel as you do AirCav that our respective military's have dropped the ball.

If it were only as easy as 'toughening the f*ck up' we'd all be better now. There's no logic in their denial of our condition.

My analogy is something like this; if you fell and broke your leg, had a compound fracture you'd probably have enough sense to go to sick bay or be sent there. But when the problem is in our heads and can't be seen we're supposed to able to fix it all ourselves. Don't we all wish that were true.
