I also want to mention that I started getting spam messages shortly after registering here, so I think there might be security issues with this forum.

The email account I used to register has been spam free for nearly 2 years, and there have been no other new registrations in a few weeks. It doesn't feel safe here, and I am very vulnerable right now.

I recently found out you can't edit or delete your words after posting,
I'm sorry about that misunderstanding.

While I am not an active counselor any more, I'm researching for a book on looking at mental health issues and possible approaches for help. Since I have more time to read various therapies and therapist theories, I have come to a conclusion that while "we are in this world, we are also too much of this world>" What I see is that too many people with issues and problems have had their mental set being tied in too much with this world which is filled with problems that it cannot solve or even understand, so those people who depend on worldly systems and therapies are going at a weak direction. One thing I know is that psychology and psychiatry are not sciences, they are man-made theories, suppositions, guess work, etc. to look at a problem and a supposed solution. But your therapist has a worldview that he/she bases thinking on -- and if that worldview is not in "tune" with your personal worldview, than the gap will be filled with non-attachment and not give any worthwhile help to your problem. I believe that any person who has questions/problems/issues, etc. needs to not be so dependent on the "worldly" approaches, but to get involved internally/spiritually/subjectively with their own approach to problems and not be so dependent on another person. There is the religious approach that has given many people with extremely serious problems, peace of mind and a rational/peaceful approach to living and dying. I personally have found the greatest satisfaction and peace of mind than I believed was possible. If you look at mankind's history, you will see it is corrupt, evil, killing, selfish, etc. and that will not change by man trying to do it by him/herself. There is a more positive approach that happens to be free, but it does take serious study and an open mind to a new way of reforming your mind and thoughts.

After I had been homeless for 3 years, I finally got it together enough to get a small one room apartment. (Everything was in that 1 room but the bathroom, which was just a cordoned off section). At that point my therapist told me she was proud of me for having accomplished this. My parents had never said such a thing to me, though my mother was always kind and supportive to me. When my therapist said that to me, it meant the world to me!

I know, also, that I had felt like a total loser/outsider when I was homeless. However, once my therapist said this to me, I had a much better feeling about myself. Yes, I can go back to the things that my father said to or about me, like "She's just lazy, that is why she is complaining that she is too cold to rake leaves." or when he told me I was stupid and things like that. I can either focus on these negatives, or I can focus on the positives that my mother and my therapist said about me and to me. I choose to do the later.

Maybe a road to such a feeling in you might be to ask others what you are doing that is helpful to them. Or what are you doing that is right. You could then purposefully focus on their answers when you are feeling worthless due to things that were said or done to you in the past. If you could just focus on the good things folks say in answer to your questions above, maybe you could overcome this bad feeling.

Another thing that might help is to pray about it all. Ask God to show you what things you are doing that give you worth and value to Him. I will pray for you too. I hope that is OK?
