@Chava I prefer the lower frequences, especially delta waves. Particularly so in the evening times. Alpha waves, however, always suited me well for day time mediations..helping increase energy, improving mood and focus. Definitely recommend sticking with theta and delta waves if your overly sensitive to particular frequencies, though. They generally produce feelings of calmness and relaxation. At least in my experiences. :)

I use binaural beats almost every night. I have recordings that vary each ear by about 10hz (100hz...

I would love to have some information on this. I have Migraines every day created by a tbi. My neuroligist has tried every kind of medecine on the market with no success. Unfortunately, my wife told me she feels like her health is put on the back burner. She has a failed back surgery, which I do not feel like her health is on the back burner. I ask her every day several times a day how she is doing. I told her fine I will attempt to deal with the daily migraines and my ptsd from three different incidents during Viet Nam. I would love to have some support. I have held the ptsd inside for 40 years. I just started started seeing a Therapist for the ptsd. I do not know where My wife feels like she has no support, however It would be nice if I could have a little support from her. I have never had a seizure in my life and have three since Wednesday when my migraines escalate: on a scale of 1-10 when the get above a 8 and 1/2 the seizures have just started since wednesday, Any suggestions will be appreciated.

I just watched the video on the binaural beats and you state they help. When I have a migraine I just want to go to a dark place no lights or noise.Am I scared very definately. My fear is if I have a severe Migraine along with a seizure what are the consequences. I do know if the seizure does not stop or continues Death is a possiblity. The seizures have just started when the migranes escalate. I am not going to say a word to my wife, due to her request. However I just called the 24 hour hotline at my va vaciity. They are going to report the incidents to my neurologist tomorrow. Please any suggestions will be appreciated. Have a great day and I am trying to believe dealing with the ptsd and migraines and now seizures with no support will improve. Please say some prayers for me and as always I am praying for yall .

@The Klown, people use the binaural beats for different things and in different ways.

I use the binaural beats as a way to attempt to regulate my brain and allow it to find different patterns of working and to assist with relaxation and sleep. However, I generally listen every night, migraine or not, as I am incorporating more principles of neurofeedback in my own process with PTSD.

I am usually able to tolerate some sound with a migraine and the beats help me to separate my 'mind' from whatever pain I am feeling and enough to help slow down my biological systems.

If you check on youtube, you will see many videos on binaural and theta beats (I quite like the theta beats). Everyone is different in what they like, what works for them and what their bodies respond to.

It's good you have a therapist, someone you can talk to about what is happening for you.

I know. I thought they'd help me go to sleep but now I feel more anxious than to begin with.

I'm not sure why but they make me anxious...quickly. But I was curious because I do find certain sounds to...

I feel same!!! Feel like an animal locked in a cage, even though the beats are supposed to do the opposite... I enjoy the singing bowls, and didgeridoo also :-)

Curious if anyone else has tried meditation through binaural beats and had as much effect as me. A head...

I'm commenting to warn others of possible side effects from binaural beats. Three months ago, I listened to a binaural beats soundtrack that claimed to help with headaches. The produced a very strange sensation- a cold feeling on my forehead and my headache was gone. It was amazing but five minutes into the track I saw two zigzag flashes in my field of vision. I immediately removed the earbuds and felt alright so went to sleep without too much worry that something was wrong. The following day I had vision problems- flashing lights, and after a trip to the ER it was found that I had a hole in my retina:I got it fixed and all was fine until the next time I used my headphones - a new hole in my retina, same eye as before. I got that one fixed. Then approx 4 weeks from the initial flash I got more flashes in my field of vision (no hole in retina this time), pain behind my eye, loud ringing in ears, extreme sensitivity and pain upon hearing sound. Dr thinks it may have been injury to the optic nerve. Injuries to the nerve do not present symptoms until 4-6 weeks after injury. This was a horrible experience for me, and though I am recovering, I still have some constant low level ringing in my ears. There are other stories of these inducing seizures in perfectly healthy people. I recommend you stay far away from binaural beats!!

Oh, wow, did not know that other members here have discovered those too. They are just totally awesome. The different Hertz formulations offer healing within infinite ways. I just love them and often apply them. It is amazing what those can do for our brain.
