@scout86 - I have very much come to the conclusion that THIS particular behaviour is NOT his PTSD. This is not an amygdala hijack or a flashback or lashing out. This is him being a arsehole because that was his job for 25 years. His particular area of the infantry at that time was.. er... pretty wild. He talks about how you had to literally fight you way IN to the battalion boozer, dodging flying beer glasses. He talks about knocking people out over things like the number of eggs available for breakfast. (And once the issue was "solved" with violence everybody was friends again.) Calling each other names was pretty much par for the course. I keep pointing out that whether it was appropriate or not in the Army, it is not appropriate in a romantic relationship with a woman!
