New Here
Hello,
My name is Brandi. I am 25 years old. I have had my fair share of trauma. I was first diagnosed with PTSD when I was three, after I was bitten by someones dog. They had to fix my the left side of my face. I have since had other things happen and uhh I never fully knew.
I just always wondered what was wrong, why my family treated me differently. At 25 I have never felt more alone, it is so hard to talk to people. To anyone. The few friends that I do have don't understand and I feel horrible when they say they don't understand why I can't get past things. I find it hard to even keep a job, I can't help but keep that nagging feeling like even if I go, it will be a dead end. Even at my best I feel second rate. I can't focus, I can't think straight. It's so scary. I'm sorry. This stupid, but I have officially written this 16 million times and I give up so. Here I am.

Hi Welcome

I felt the same way at your age before I was diagnosed with PTSD. You are at the right place to learn and deal more about PTSD. This is a very helpful group. You are safe here.

Hey Brandi, welcome to this forum, hopefully you wont feel so alone now you are here with other like minded people :)

@Brandilynn Welcome to the forum!

The few friends that I do have don't understand and I feel horrible when they say they don't understand why I can't get past things.

Many people do not understand why a person can't get past or just move on from trauma as they do not understand that a person with PTSD is kind of "stuck" in the trauma. That is what is great about this site as the members here really do understand and there is a common goal to process the trauma in order to move forward.

Even at my best I feel second rate. I can't focus, I can't think straight. It's so scary.

As you read, you will find that what you have listed are common symptoms of PTSD but you will also see that people do recover and improve and there in lies the hope that things can get better. I hope you find the information and support here beneficial to your healing.
