Sometimes I have days where everything feels very overwhelming and stressful, no matter how small the situation is. I feel like I end up wasting an entire day because the only thing I can do that doesn’t make me stressed is lying down. Does anyone have any tips on ways to calm general anxiousness or be productive when you start to feel this way?

Thanks,
Jenna

I'm with you Jenna. This is a great topic particularly for this time of year. I was just speaking about this to someone today.
I need to work on my breathing. I tend to become oxygen deprived when under stress which can't be good. This year I'm using:

* calming enjoyable music
* guided meditation
* emdr safe place (visualization deal)
* worry stone
* writing down worries so they don't keep repeating in your head
* mindful breathing
* using your senses (touch, smell, taste, sight) to be present in the moment
*

I don’t, I wish I did. I try and do things in short snatches... but even then it’s very possible I’ll lose the next several hours to crashing, melting down, or blowing up. If it’s big & outwards? I’ll usually feel better enough to actually do some things afterward. But I don’t let myself do big & outward very often, and inward just means I’m gonna be face planted miserable and depressed for several days.
