Just wondering if anyone out there has sought out legal help in their return to work and at what point you decided it was necessary. Thanks.

I'm once again been hit out of the blue with a notification of a return to work process that is about to start, I wish I was more in the loop with these decisions so that I can at least prepare. It's looking like I'm being offered a contract in what could turn out to be a secretarial position. I personally think that this is wrong since I am a full time permanent employee off work as a paramedic and I am being downgraded to contract employment with the possibility of a salary downgrade as well. I'm upset but not sure if I have a case.

Medic72: I see your also in Canada. Depending on the province the Provincial Legislation may be able to help. I take it its within the same organization and your not under a collective agreement? Check out labor standards they typically are pretty good and a great place to start. Then I'd run it by an employment lawyer. As you'll already know some of the issues your time with the lawyer should be more efficient.

Thanks.
My search was futile, no one wants the case they suggest the union provide legal representation and my union rep doesn't think a lawyer is warranted. Rock - Hard place.
I end up having to fight battles that I should not be fighting and it's killing me, I can't keep this up.
thanks for all of your suggestions.
