Good Morning -
I just saw a story about the above movement/gathering on CNN. It was a good change from the pictures of what has happened in Nice or Turkey in the past two days.
This is a faith-based movement, working toward a "reset" for the direction the world seems to be going in. There will be several speakers and musicians present. I wish I lived in DC, I'd love to be there. So, for those of you are and are interested.... It is also streaming, live from their website if you're located elsewhere. I don't think I'm allowed to post a link, but you can Google the title above.
Although this is a Christian-based event, I think it would be special if everyone would join in - Christian or not. Maybe that's just me though as I enjoy going to other places of worship and exploring different faiths/practices so it wouldn't bother me. I've never been turned away from another faith or practice. I think that's because we all have loving one another as our shared foundation.
It just seems somehow, someway that we, as a society, all need to get on a collective page where we're believing that change is necessary and possible, and then working together toward effecting fundamental changes in the way we think, perceive ourselves and one another, and then interact with one another. To me, there seems to be a lot of fear and disenfranchisement at the basis of a great deal of the violence that has been perpetrated on innocents. People working out their issues on others, whether as a group or solo. So, maybe we all need a little understanding and patience, and a great, great deal of love for ourselves and others in order to change directions.
I'll get off my virtual soapbox, but I thought this to be a constructive way to interject one aspect of positivity into what has been a horribly scary, angry and violent month around the world, including where I live.
