Trazodone And Flu-like Symptoms.

Hey everyone,

I haven't posted in awhile. How is everything? So I've been going to see. new psychiatrist and she gave me a script for Trazodon 50mg. 1 tablet PO at night.. (ambien wasn't working)

Today I woke up with flu like symptoms. If I eat anything I throw it up. Feels like I was hit by a bus. Body aces, diarrhea, the whole mine yards. I read that this was a symptom but its deff not worth a few extra hours of sleep. What are your thoughts on this. Anyone with similar experiences? (I did call my psychiatrist but she was with a patient)

Do you mean Trazodone? I'm on that, but I haven't heard of Trazadon.

**Update** I spoke with my psychologist and she said it shouldn't cause those symptoms. I ended up going to the clinic here on my base and they told me I had the flu. So it happened to be a coincidence.

I was on it 8 yrs ago on a small dose to help sleep and it was amazing and made a huge difference.

I went back on it last year, but at a much higher dose and it ended up sedating me all day long!

I turned into a zombie and couldn't think, let alone function - it was the oddest feeling! The therapist was so worried about me that she contacted my doctor and I came off it pretty quick. X

Trazodone is awful! That stuff felt nice the first time I took it, then the after the 3rd, 4th, and 5th day, it made me irritable all day, and have rage fits. Bad mojo.

Trazodone has greatly added my recovery. It gives me good sleep, though it does cause my kidneys to work overtime so I'm hoping someday to be able to go off it.
