@SittingDuck, there are volunteer opportunities that I'm definitely interested in. I'm just not in a position to spend time on it right now. My goal is to be ready to volunteer by February of next year. A lot of things will be sorted by then.

We had a lot of Southerners move up north for jobs and lots of them had Confederate flag stickers on their vehicles.

I grew up in a suburb of Houston, TX. I just moved from the TX/Mex border to the West (not actually considered the South). This place is more conservative than anywhere I've ever lived. And I tell people, I've seen more Trump and/or antiObama bumper stickers ad more confederate flags than I ever saw in Texas! I'm surprised! And disgusted.

I saw a lot of that in the Detroit area. The suburbs where white people live, not the city, where mostly black people live. It is totally disgusting.

I can hear Rachel Maddow on the TV downstairs. She's been talking about the women who've come out today about how Trump groped them. I love Rachel and would like to see her show, but I know I have to stay on this news fast.

I've been really startled at how the release of that video brought back memories of something I had forgotten. It wasn't really major compared to my other traumas, but in this context of having a presidential candidate who's bragged about sexually assaulting women, it's been really bothering me now.

Me, too. When I read about it I messaged my partner that I don't feel safe. It's not just this tape, either. Since the beginning of this presidential mess, I haven't been able to listen to him or read things about him. I think the release of this tape made me realize why: he's abusive. He's a toxic narcissistic sociopath. Does it ever happen that you meet someone and instantly don't like them, but you can't put your finger on why until months later when a friend (usually a fried who was like, "why don't you like whoever???") tells you some awful thing that person did to them? That's what this was for me. I had a visceral intolerance for Trump from the beginning. If he was on television at work I'd mute it and tell customers the sound didn't work. I'd avoid reading about him. I'd be adamant about people not talking to me about him. Then this happens and suddenly everyone's outraged and I realized why I felt that way. He's not just a racist, nationalist, misogynist. Sometimes racist, nationalist, misogynists are just ignorant. He's a f*cking sociopath. He is a piece of shit human being who actually doesn't care about anyone or anything but power. Sometimes we get these feelings about people, those of us who have experienced abuse, and we can't always put our finger on it. I'm glad I've learned to trust my gut about those feelings. I've realized that something in my mind or my body recognizes unsafe people and I trust my gut even if I can't name a reason for it. Call it survivor's intuition.

Ha, I am just now hearing Hillary on TV saying how so many pro athletes are issuing public statements saying they don't talk that way in their locker rooms.

Did you read the letter from Chris Kluwe, @hodge ? It was wonderful. They're coming out of the woodworks to shut him down. Although, professional athletes have their own reputation domestic and sexual violence.

No, I haven't seen that.

Yeah, I know some athletes have gotten into trouble with DV. Which makes it all the more remarkable that they're speaking out against this.

Hubby just now said a third woman is coming forward with her Trump horror story. It'll be on Brian Williams' show on MSNBC in about 15 minutes, plus on the Today show tomorrow morning.
