I'm going to try once more: Keep this thread to issues of being stressed or triggered. Do not pick up topics that are about the upcoming election, except insofar as how they relate to the trigger/stressor.

This is a responsibility for anyone in this thread. Please. If it can't be maintained, the thread will be locked.

In this thread, you can still be triggered by Trump while being anti-Clinton. From this point forward, content that is pro- or anti- Clinton in this thread will be deleted.

I'm sorry, @joeylittle. I've been having trouble separating all these things out. To me, Hillary is the only person standing between the monster and us. As well as those of us who will vote for her. I am finding her to be a comforting presence against this sexually assaulting, racist, mysogynistic monster and mentioning her in that context is part of my venting about being triggered by Trump. Only she and those of us who will vote for her can make him go away. Do you know what I mean?

Well, @hodge - I do and I don't (know what you mean).

I'm drawing a line between talking about the actions/words of a candidate (Trump) and the potential outcome of the election (who to vote for).

That, to me, is magical thinking. He as a human will not suddenly go away no matter the outcome of the election. Finding a way to empower yourself through using your vote for the candidate you support is (of course) a good thing - but that's not the topic of this thread, that's a question of what to do with one's vote in this upcoming election.

Essentially: voting for Clinton is not the only way to address being triggered by Trump. It is one way - not the only way. And by making it the only way, this thread becomes unnecessarily politicized. That turns it into a thread more appropriate to the politics forum.

One can talk about the fear, even, of his completing the election to the presidency without defaulting to 'Hillary will save things, and any negative message about Hillary makes this space not safe'.

That's why/where I'm drawing the line. I hope the explanation makes sense; it's not done without some thought.

The more I read about his impossible road to 270, the better I feel. Not so triggered. He gets ratings so he's in the forefront of media. This will soon end. At some point soon after the election he won't be so relevant. News outlets will hopefully realize that watchers will flock AWAY in droves if they cover him so much. I mean nobody will care because he won't be a threat to our democracy. If the big 3 continue his coverage then they will no longer be credible news sources and I will walk (as will many others). I can watch other channels. I can get my news elsewhere. And once he's out of the spotlight, we won't be so triggered anymore. We will feel safer because he isn't a threat to us. We are scared shitless because he's one of two people who have the possibility of being out next president. If it was some nobody like Billy Bush who said the same, we'd be disgusted, sure, but the reactions wouldn't be this great.

I want this all to go away. Im like a kid with my eyes close saying "go away, go away" to "the monster" being this entire damn election!

Im not pro-anyone. I hate 'em all and wont vote...i just want this to be all over!

My opinion might seem really odd, I really understand the triggering this guy does, he is the embodiment of the omnipotent power abusing creep.

His supporters are a thousand times more frightening than he is, not the ones that accept him for what he is, as much as the ones that are blind to what he so obviously is.

It is that societal blindness that makes early abuse victims react so strongly, all abuse victims really, but those of us abused from childhood have a really hard time with the apparent blindness by choice that goes on.

I feel good about this election in a way, its like lifting a heavy garden rock, knowing the creepy crawlies will have to scatter or die in the sunlight.

He is bringing things into the open, not just himself, but the myriad of angles that create him and others like him. We need to understand the process of people that want to give someone like that power.... and we'll be more collectively conscious of the answer to that after this election.

This discribes my dad so well. Pure blindness. He has always been that way since ive been alive, post military. My sisters say he was different during the military in their childhood (what of it he was around) but since ive been alive he has this blindness to him. Complete blindness. I dont get it. He isnt stupid. Not by a long shot. He is very politcally smart. But this, yeah.

I hope, that once this is over and whomever doesnt distory what we have left of a country too much, that we will be more aware as a Planet. Not just as a country but I am hoping that the civialized countries are watching this and learning from this!

I don't know how to put into words what I think of him. But I will say, I no longer believe anything I read, especially the news.

Also - none of them give a shit about us. In any country of the world. And they never will.
