@Deadman is correct. There's no official version. But international law tends to default to the definition given by the Link Removed, which is pretty simple:

Speech which threatens, offends, or insults groups, based on race, color, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, disability, or other traits.

USA politics are vast but I am choosing my home state to express one of the effects that are tangible since the altering of Federal Budget.

The redistribution :whistling: has led to some close downs this month for some Catholic Homeless Shelters that offered one meal, showers, internet and clean beds for hundreds of working families (as well as others) that have become displaced.

Some of the soup kitchens, food pantries, medical facilities and care, huds homes that were being built for Vets...things of that nature...did not receive the funds as under previous administrations. The people employed in service of these jobs will be unemployed at the end of this quarter: several of my neighbors work in this area.

So I am not able to debate the multitude of reasons with those whom are politically abreast of current events...but what I am asking for is the following:
If you pray to a higher power or any form of asking the universe for kindness...please do so for those whom will now be hungry and displaced (any where) and perhaps in my city.

I'm praying, @Recovery4Me.

Beyond praying, though, I hope those nonprofits are looking into grant applications. I work part time for a homeless center and write grant applications for them. There are companies with deep pockets which offer grants to social services. We regularly are awarded grants from some major utilities and banks, for example. We rely on federal funds as well and got stiffed badly last winter, but the private sector came through.

The private sector has been exhaustively engaged. Only a handful of services can remain opened as of now. In a few weeks much of the infrastructure that assisted those previously will cease.

This is my example of how the new budget and policies are impacting this country, and thus the world. I am a wildlife rehabilitator and conservationist. Every week I, and 1,200 other volunteers donate our time, energy, and heart to The Marine Mammal Center, a state of the art hospital. While we rely primarily on public donations, we are enmeshed with other agencies. NOAA for example. Also, the US Marine Mammal Commission, an organization charged with restoring mammal populations in the worlds oceans, is on the chopping block. The demise of this particular oversight agency will increase the challenges our patients experience and have a detrimental effect on ocean health in general. Our mission is rescue, rehabilitate and release. My colleagues and I are devastated and fearful of what lies ahead.

The thing that bothers me the most is how the president doesn't take seriously the fact that Russia meddled with our election, as it does in other western countries, and will do again here. Putin wants to undermine western democracies, and the guy at the top here isn't doing anything about it except tweeting nonsense. This is really scary stuff.

I see what you are saying and agree completely for many very important topics. I just get sick of people bringing politics in to every single conversation. It's been going on for years and I guess I'm just whining. Sometimes it is VERY important.

I'm not trying to scare you off, but isn't this a place where mods have allowed us to respectfully discuss our differences and political struggles? I think it's ok if you want to agree to disagree, but that's not the right path for everyone. I think we are all learning how to navigate these political waters as its all new territory. I think that if people you know IRL are crossing your boundaries, maybe it would be best to excuse yourself from those conversations. I know I have to do that when someone brings politics into a non-political conversation.
