if what you are saying is true, Trump would have been impeached on passing security information to Putin bc that is treason in this country.
You'd think so, wouldn't you? Colluding with foreign governments to interfere with elections is treason too. Yet not one Republican voted to impeach. Not one Republican is going to vote for removal.

Republicans love power more than the Constitution.

How can any self respecting Republican vote for impeachment when they haven't been allowed to view any of the articles?

As far as the power loving thing, from where I'm sitting the far left are the ones trying to circumvent the constitution, not the moderate right.
The O'Rourke is a Democrat isn't he? He's the one calling for mandatory confiscation of firearms. Sorta anti 2nd amendment if you ask me.

Regarding putin- there is a very easily digestible and free audible podcast on his ascent should anyone want a broad brushstrokes introduction or revision material.

As for the other stuff- it’s incredible to me how incredibly awful everyone - usually people who spend time looking for our own thought pattern difficulties and evidence - is being to each other yet pointing fingers elsewhere. It’s somewhat indicative that partisan politics are problematic now.

‘I am not an impartial juror’. At least McConnel recognises it? Is that a takeaway? Or is it his attempt not to be that I see reflected here in hateful comments so desperately dispiriting?

Hello pot, kettle is calling...watch the news much? That be Pelosi holding the articles of impeachment hostage for a quid pro quo with the Senate regarding "rules" for the hearing... talk about crazy and illegal. They will fry her as* one day and take her teeth away in prison...

Or, it would be her, waiting to hear what McConnell's format is going to be, so she can use that information to help her choose who's going to manage things for the House.

I don't think either party has covered themselves in glory the past few years. I wish we could rid ourselves of both of them.

@scout86 It's getting really bad. I would love to see the Dem's approach this coming campaign season with the message of "Yeah, Trump has done some good for the US. Here's how we're going to do better." Rather than their current strategy of "Orange man bad! Impeach Orange man!"

In fairness, the people who are actually running for president seem to be spending WAY more time talking about how they'd like to do better than they are talking about the current president or impeachment.

@scout86 Yeah?
I'm probably watching different news, other than the asinine policies (open borders, universal health care for non-citizens, ect ect) I haven't seen much actual campaigning.
That's nice to hear, it's so hard to find reputable sources for political news.

@scout86 I was being a little dramatic about the open borders thing, what I meant (and should have just said the first time) was decriminalisation of illegal border crossings. Which is certainly a different thing. Sorry, should have been clearer.

Thanks for the public radio suggestion.

Try public radio. I really try to get chances to hear people speak for themselves & avoid the spin. Direct interviews & such. (I don't think anyone running for president is actually favor of totally open borders, for example.)

This. Also, by virtue of my heritage I listen to news from four countries’ and three continents source’s with equal emphasis - Looking at the same story from different interpretations is interesting. It’s also interesting to note where my blind spots are even when I try to have a more global view. I have a natural reason to be more open sourced- and still have gaping holes that I need to take effort to read / listen when I want to understand something with greater perspective. For people who only listen / watch read one country’s sources or maybe two if they are outside an English speaking country ( because US news is pretty dominant and the English speaking internet is a bit of a colony of the US ) seems ... short sighted to me in a world where, like it or not, our actions do impact people outside our boarders, and we are impacted by what goes on elsewhere.
