Vacation Pictures

My vacation was very much a mixed bag. There was some good, bad, and the trip home was VERY bad. I missed my flight...well, I got there with 7 minutes to spare but they already did their "paperwork" so they wouldn't let me board. I had to pay to fly into a near by town, rent a car and drive home so I can work tomorrow. Tears were shed, I'm angry, but I thought despite all the crap from the last week I will share some pictures that hopefully you all will enjoy.

I resized them down so the file sizes would be smaller and maybe it would save some bandwidth..not sure if that makes a difference or not. I hope it's ok that I did this and I hope you guys enjoy them.

KP - this one is for you. I do not have a green thumb, but my mom has done something like you and made herself a little sanctuary in her back yard where she can relax. There are more potted flowers around the deck, but you can't see them all here. The orange flowers are lilies.

This is a wild flower I saw growing all over and thought they were really pretty.

When we were on our mini-trip, my brother brought fireworks. I don't really like them and didn't want to stay up late to watch them, but if I did it would make him happy..so here is a picture of one of them.

And last of all, this is a view of the ocean from one of the restaurants we ate at. It would have been much prettier if it were sunny, but the water, grass and rocks are still nice. Listening to the ocean is so relaxing :) I wish I could hear it all the time.

Where did you go on your trip?

Thank you. I went to Washington State and then down to Oregon for a few days. We went to the Tillamook cheese factory and another cheese/wine place.

This is a wild flower I saw growing all over and thought they were really pretty.

Just out of interest Pirate lady, your flower is a Foxglove (Digitalis). I love this plant as it attracts lots of bees and always looks so pretty. One thing though, it is poisonous. It is the plant they make the heart drug Digoxin from.

I thought this would make you smile but every time I read your name I read it as, 'Painted Lady' insted of 'Piratelady!':rolleyes:

Thanks for the flower info CraftyCath. I love flowers, lilacs are my favorite, but these are pretty too. You know a lot about these flowers :)

Thanks everyone. There is one more picture I wanted to share. It is of Mt St Helen's (clearly, LOL). We started the drive up there and then the fog and clouds were too much so we had to turn around. Before that I told my mom and step-dad that we weren't leaving without a picture. I took one and was then informed I was facing away from the volcano. So I turned around and took this one. Can you see it?

You know, I knew a lot of the volcano was blown away in that last big erruption, but wow! There's like nothing left to photograph, is there? ;)
