How does it instill powerless though... it was just as easy for me as a child to intuit my suffering/abuse had a "purpose" than it being only debasing/victimizing and to break me. People in my neighborhood were going through the same for example/or similar with their own families... we were looked to by the younger ones. 3 of us... and 11-13 younger ones looked to model themselves on us... what we did. That was not powerlessness, that was responsibility to bring/aid/assist up the younger ones in the neighborhood.

@ The Albatross ,
I believe in certain circumstances in can, but in the example you provided, I think would have been helpful at the time, besides we were only kids.
I would have preferred to keep my innocence a bit longer

and I am aware theres a lot more to it, and I have read about it, that's why I was surprised the psychopath was, maybe im not explaining myself well. Im not associating you with that guy at all!

I wonder how much of this comes down to 'maniacs & morons'. The old saw about how there are only 3 kinds of drivers; Maniacs & Morons. Maniacs are those who drive faster than you. Morons are those who drove slower than you.

Overly positive? Just means they've crossed my own personal line of what's Hell yeah, bring it. Love that attitude! Into FFS. Sure. Everything will work out just because we want it to. Welcome to the real world, cupcake. And stay the f*ck out of my way.

Overly negative, the reverse, right?

Maniacs and Morons.

Doesn't really have anything to do with anyone else's world view. Just the sparks that fly when our world views grind against each other.

It is the contrast of world views brought to the fore by the beholder... they only grind because the person who subscribes to "overly" dang near anything has a personal/perceptual preference or bias.

@The Albatross I think your situation is actually more like the 2nd situation I mentioned in an odd sort of way.

People often use the phrase "everything happens for a reason" when they can't find anything positive in a situation but feel the need to make a positive statement. I don't think your situation exactly fits the criteria for what we are referring to as overly positive

@Roslie22 psychopaths usually aren't stoic, just the opposite.I know your statement was completely innocent. I think @The Albatross was sensitive as a result of previous statements that could be considered attackish earlier in the thread.

@The Albatross I think your situation is actually more like the 2nd situation I ment...

@Fadeaway hey ! That makes sense (reg. Still being actually in 2nd situation even though saying everything happens for a reason)

& that's what I tried to explain after *that I thought the psychopath was lying about that*
But I don't think I'm writing well today.. absolutely knackered..
